I recently replaced the EGR and DPFE valve due to a check engine light, I also replaced the air filter and fuel filter added a Lucas Fuel Injector cleaner to a full tank of gas change spark plugs and cables. Clear the check engine codes and though everything will be perfect now, but every time I have to step quickly on the gas to pass a car or make a quick move, the truck hesitates to go, first it feels as is something is holding it down and then it takes off, but is not a smooth running take off is very heavy going like if it's loaded, but the bed is empty.

I have the same problem and I just replaced the EGR, DPFE, added K&N filter, and cleaned sensor with electrical cleaner and I now have that same problem. It still feel like it's working to hard to get going.

Oh yeah and I also added the Lucas Fuel Injector cleaner to a full tank.

 

Try cleaning the throttle body.Do not use carb cleaner;use a throttle body cleaner only! Also,use a soft bristle toothbrush to scrub the butterfly and where it seats.This is where all the carbon build up will be.

 

If cleaning the TB doesn't get it, I'd suggest the problem is either a dirty/defective MAF or a flakey TPS.

Clean the MAF sensor while you're doing the TB.
