Hadn't had it out since last fall, only 1,500 miles on the Harley then. The performance at that time was at best OK. I had hoped that getting her some good break-in mileage would make a difference.Boy did it!
I live on the east side of Denver. Was going to Taylor reservoir which meant going over 12,000 Cottonwood pass which is only paved on the east side. The trip included a couple hundred miles at 8-10 thousand feet, as well as a couple hundred getting up to and down from home at 5,200.
Aside from the 12 miles of unpaved ,rarely graded dirt road from washboard hell on the east side of Cottonwood Pass, the trip was a real pleasure! Those 12 miles with about 13,000 lbs of 5th wheel nearly rattled both brain cells loose! Then, I fell for the rumor that it'd been graded after we got there....so I did it again on the return trip! The truck and 5th did great! The only damage was to the only nerve I had left...But that of course was cured with a couple or 5 Coronas!
I do have a point! I had really been enjoying my daily driving in all of Colorado's weather over the last 9 months, but finally got to give it a good test. She performed like a dream! No one can tell me anything bad about her now! I am still looking forward to doing some power upgrades, but now see no need! I like most of you can never have too much power, but will only be doing it for fun. This truck is the goods and I am truly in love!
Just thought you guys might like to see a good positive post. Brian
P.S. The Cbetr's were a huge help too!!

Nice! It still kills me that our trucks can tow those houses on wheels. I tow a little trailer with my rockcrawler on it and get jealous when I see you guys with those sweet 5er's. I was just in Golden for a precious metals conference. Beautiful country up there. But they're not kidding when they say drink lots of water at that altitude.
