A/C blowing hot and cold

My 2001 F-250 7.3 has been an awesome truck for me for the last 6 years. At 190000 miles the a/c has started blowing warm and cold. It did this last summer a couple of times but I never messed with it. It is doing it now more and more. It will blow cold just like it should and then all of the sudden start warming up. It does it while driving or stopped. Could it be a leak or a switch/sensor going out? Could the compressor be taking a turn for the worst? Thanks for the help in advance!

Give this a try, It may solve your problem. It worked for me on three different trucks so far.

I have a 2000 F350 7.3 PSD and the a/c would start cold and then warm up. It was low on freon. I added a can and it is working fine. If it gets low on freon, the low pressure switch causes the compressor to cut off. A freon/guage kit is fairly cheap and may fix the problem.

Freon hasn't been used in almost 20 years.....

Nope. Do your homework.

It's all called "refrigerant", but it's not all Freon.

Well, some of us grew up in the 70's so it's freon to me. If you go to an auto parts store and ask for a can of freon you'll get R134. You can't get the old stuff anyway unless you have an HVAC license or own a shop that has a freon recovery system.
