Thermostat temp?

I just rebuilt my 77 302 and I changed to E7TE heads, RV cam, dual plane aluminum intake, and 4bbl 600cfm vac. secondaries Holley carb. I have both a 180F and 193F thermostat and I was wondering which was the best one to use for my application. The 180F thermostat is what came on the original carburated 77 302, but not sure if the changes I made require a higher temp thermostat. Thanks.

did you do any machine work, like cylinder boring? if not i would go ith the stock t-tat. give it a test trial, if it overheats or gets too hot go to a cooler t-stat. if it dosent heat up enough go with a hotter one.

run the 180, if it was efi i would say run the 195.

FYI The cylinders were bored out 0.030"

if its like any holley carb i driven its probably cold natured- go with a 193 unless it gives you problems

Well I got one vote for the 180, one for the 193, and one neutral. Need a tie breaker vote:-)

I'm with Kemical...go with the 180º since it's carbed. You don't need the higher combustion temps that EFI requires.
