Dodge stepside pickup, (Dodge Ramside) 1996ish

I read an old article on this, and no one gave a good answer so I felt like raising it again when I saw a Dodge Ramside today.

I looked into it, and actually could find only 1 single website on the internet that said anything about the ramside, and all it said was that a company (Elkhart. Ind) took chevy sportsides, used that model to make composite plastic beds, and put dodge tailights on it, and put it on the rams, im guessing very few were made...

Does anybody know any more info or have a single picture of one?? lol I cant find anything and i really want to geta better look at one!

thanks

Here's ya a pic of a Ramside. I have seen quite a few of these down here. Didn't know they were something special. Considering it's a Dodge, I guess it still isn't special.

What do you mean by a ranger utility? like with the utility bed on it?

and that is not what i mean by a ramside, those are sometimes called ramsides, i dont know why, but im talking about the older body style, around 1996 or earlier, anyway its like a stepside, (like the ford flareside)

EDIT:
is this what your talkiing about with the ranger?:

Maybe you're talking about the Little red truck that they had. Looks like this one only not cut up.

You sure you didnt see a dodge, with a ford flareside bed slapped on it? Ive seen some really odd stuff done to cars before, so it might be.

The only 96 model or so Dodges I've seen w/ a stepside bed had Ford or Chevy beds. One w/ a Ford bed used a 97-03 and it just didn't look right. I did see a current model w/ a stepside bed in Atlanta last week. It had to be a custom job because it used the Dodge taillights and it also had a 'Ramside' decal on it.

Alright, forget 1996, i was just using that as a reference to the body style, its actually the 1993-2001 body style, im not certain of the year. But it sounds like smaug has seen the same type of truck, and I never said it was made by dodge, I know it is a 3rd party that is making these, I even know who... did anybody even read my first article lol...

anyway it is a chevy bed, with dodge lights in it.

I have seen pics before of that Ramside bed, and it was indeed an Indiana company that did them, but I had no recollection they were GM truck beds done up for the Dodge. Yes, they were 1/2-ton tricks.

I always that Dodge should have tried to make some of those Ramsides for the 94-later trucks....

I'm getting ready to head back to H-town, but what was the point of the thread again...other than I have also heard of the Ramside and the OP isn't smoking something?
