Well I got both my chimes (key and seat belt) to quit working, tried the 9x thing for the belt still no luck, unplugged it from under the seat,Key chime, I pulled the cover off the column and traced the blk/pink stripe wire to the plug and pulled the plug apart and then pulled out the female plug end out and reconected the plug, taped the hot end and HA,HA noooo chimes and I can return it to stock when I sell the truck. Thanks all Jeff
I had tried the 9x on my 03 numerous times a few days back,it would not deactivate the seat belt chimes, but it sure screwed up th starting procedure, meaning it would not start gave me the dead battery click click for almost 20 minutes of on/off ( break between) trying to start it. Seems to be ok today but I am a little hesitant. Has anyone else had this happen?
Diconnecting the key chimes was a little iffy at first.I do not think by disconecting this wire I will have any problems. At one piont I was concerned it may affect the air bag operation but looks good so far(no missfire).
One would think a more user friendly method on the seat belt chimes could be put to use... maybe a key lock out as opposed to a code?
