At this moment Edge is saying we will have them on the shelf sometime Friday the 30th or Wednesday July 5th because of the holiday. Pre-Orders are now being taken. We have 30 units in the initial order, we will decide from there how to order more.....5 a week, 50 a week, or 500 a week!

Thumbs up

Hey guys. Just stumbled across this and thought I'd let you know Edge is still doing Beta tests on the unit, I know because I'm a tester. I got mine yesterday and did a Level 2 tune. The is a difference, especially with the shifts, they are a lot firmer. I plan on filling up with 93 octane later today so I can try out the level 3 tune. They are working out a few minor gliches with it right now, but nothing major at all.

Talking Level 3

Wow, I've made a few trips on level 3 and it wakes the truck up! Normal driving isn't much different, just a lot more throttle responsive, but WOT that 5.4L screams. It seems like it wants to be driven hard with the level 3 tune, or maybe that's just me. I've been driving the truck pretty hard the past few days and averaging the same MPG I did before any tunes and with easy driving. If I could stop flooring , I bet my MPG would go up pretty good.

argabright, have you used any other tuners before, and if you have, notice any differences?

Rules of the board dictate no speaking of prices. You'll have to check the site next week when we put a purchase link out. Sorry....its the rules of most forums that they dont want direct talk of business on an INFORMATION board.....otherwise it become a little ebay board.

Can you run the programmer on 87 octane fuel? How are the results then?

Rumor has it I will be getting these today or Tuesday.....as to how they react to dif tunes/octanes......not many folks on earth have seen this...let alone run it. Maybe one of the beta testers can chime in and tell us what effect octane has on POWER?

Yes runs on 87 Octane. Just plug it in and go.

Results are positive on my 2002 4.6 Supercrew. Burning thru a tank of high test now but I am satisfied with the 87 tune as well.

There are still a few bugs to work out on the units and I would be suprised if they are actually shipping.

Running thru my first tank of high test now...really wakes my 4.6 but with a Supercrew weight is the enemy. The off the line performance is most enhanced as the engine reaches the max torque a bit faster. Seems much more willing to take off and go. Shift patterns are a definate postive for me, just drop the pedal and the downshift is positive with the engine spinning right up. Actually have the belt chipping on the 1 to 2 shift WOT now.

I spend almost all of my time in local stop and go traffic so I am in the low end most of the time, launch from stop light to light, spirited pass and lane change when needed. Its just a daily driver and the Edge definately increases the FUN factor.

Other tester can speak to the WOT or High Speed changes.
