As anyone tried the MSD coil for the 2.8? Any performance differences over stock what about switching to 8mm wires and which brand did you use for the 8mm.

I switched over the MSD coil in my 2.9 and 8mm wires and honestly, I didn't really notice anything except in high-rpm's and even then it wasn't much. This upgrade works well once you've already installed several other things (MSD 6al ignition, air intake, exhaust, bigger injectors, port and polish, and chip).

 

I installed the msd-6al. I noticed better throttle response, not that the truck hesistated to begin with, but my truck just felt more responsive all through out the power band, gas mileage improved a bit too.
