gas mileage of f350 w a 460??
#3
Rear gears, model year, body style and tranny info would help.
My 94 F250 supercab longbed, E4OD, 4.10 4x4 460 gets about 11-12mpg for mixed freeway city driving. I don't think I have ever seen 13+. When I tow my 8,000# trailer I get something like 8-9mpg unless I get into heavy hills or a head wind.
The F350 of my same model year is a bit heavier so I would expect a little less mpg.
Good Luck,
Jim Henderson

96 F350 Reg cab 460 E4OD 3.55 4x4 best tank was 13 avg. stock wheels & tires.
97 F350 Crewcab 460 E4OD 4.10 4x4 35" tires avg. 10 adjusted for tire size.
97 F250 Crewshort 7.3PSD E4OD 4X4 forgot what gears best tank not towing was 16 avg. worst tank towing was 9 almost 10.
Current aquisition 89 F350 Reg.Cab 4x4 4.10 460 C-6 35" BFG's flat out horrible,only had it a few days and the motor is tired.
I never really cared about MPG but Dads co. was paying for the gas & fuel and the fuel card would give a monthly print out of every vehicles average, kinda cool, and Dad made us keep an exact log so he could average it out, and it did match the fuel co's print out pretty close. He told me last month that the 06 2wd F250 6.0 PSD got 19 mpg on propane on the way to Pheonix. Just keep your foot out of it.
