I will post some of the events I know about in Kansas that are coming up in June along with a few in bordering areas if they are close enough to attend or of special significance. Feel free to post other things than car show/truck shows. Such things as mud races, truck pulls and off road events and other truck stuff I haven't thought of.

The idea is that if several FTE'ers are attending we can make arrangements to meet somewhere during the event to get aquainted or just to say hello.

There's a show coming up on the 18th at the sedgwick county zoo. You have to pay admission to the zoo but I hear it's well worth it. I'm going for the first time to see what it's like. It is actually in the zoo, not at the park.

I just did some checking on the show at the Zoo. It's their Father's Day Car Show. You have to pay zoo admision, but "father's get in free with a paying child" I believe the show is in the zoo, or it may be in the parking lot. Not sure, as I haven't been to the zoo in ages. Car Show runs from 8:30 am till 4:30 pm.

I beleive that Afton will and I think the All Trucks one up by KC will also. There is a link for the All Trucks show above. The hosting club is a Ebby club but the guy i talked to said they welcome all makes. Afton has been going on for as long as I can remember. It is put on by the Wichita Area Assn of Car Clubs or something like that. It is a pretty big show.

 

I got another one for you guys. The Halstead Old Settlers Days are this weekend August 11th, 12th, and 13th. There will be a car show saturday the 12th. I don't know if it's a good one or not but I will be showing my Galaxie at it.

If your in to old civillian aircraft then they have a great airshow at the Halstead airport. At least they have had it the last 2 years but it has always been after the fair in September. I don't know if it will be during the Old Settlers Days this year or not.

 

Most of the shows listed will be next year on about the same time during the month. Many of the clubs do their shows the same weekend each year, i.e. the first saturday etc. Another hint to find shows is to check the "events" section of Hemmings magazine, and it is also online. You can select by state, dates, etc.

 

August 25th -27th is Cobblestone in Falls City they do have a Car show on Saturday i believe but unfortunately i have to work that weekend.
