shifter for ford-o-matic trans.

Hi all,
I'm putting a 56 ford-o-matic in my 55 ford truck. any ideas on shifters. I'm looking at trying to find a 53-55 truck auto steering colum or a aftermarket shfter like a Lokar for a FMX?

Tom, have you studied the differences between the 53 - 55 column and the tranny verses the 56? I have a 54 ford-o-matic, but have not really examined the 56. If all is the same, I'd go with your thought of finding a 53 -55 colunm - they are out there and I have seen a few over the years on e-bay.
