Choke question
I was just wondering what the purpose of the wire is that goes on the side of the choke? It also has the tube that comes up from the exhaust manifold to warm up the choke to open it. Does the wire do the same thing? I've not noticed any movement from the choke with only the wire hooke up and the tube not.

The wire is for an electrical assist. It goes to a plate inside the choke cap that helps heat up the choke in addition to the hot-air tube. Electrically assisted chokes were first introduced to help the choke open a tad faster to avoid emissions due to a rich condition.
Some chokes are hot-air, some chokes are all-electric, and some, like yours, are both.
