Im trying to decide which power steering conversion to buy for my 72 bronco.
The best ones seem to be the wildhorses 3 turn Quick Ratio Steering System, wild horses Ford Extreme Duty Steering System, Or James Duffs 3 1/3 turn Ultimate Power steering system.
Anyone tried any of these systems?
Any suggestions?
Is 3 turns too few for a dual purpose ride?
The James Duff kit and the WH quick ratio kit are essentially the same. Both are using the same steering boxes and similar saginaw pumps. Wild Horses gives the option of a complete lower steering shaft instead of just the lower coupler. FYI, this is the same steering setup that Tom's Bronco Parts is selling as well. I have installed a few of these types of boxes. The quick ratio is not too fast for a multipurpose Bronco. They will take some getting used to if you have been chasing a loose steering system or driving a slow ratio box.
The WH Extreme system is geared more towards the rockcrawling and technical four wheeling or if you have very large tires. In my opinion, it is overkill unless you are going to be using your Bronco on the trail the majority of the time. This steering box is available without the steering ram but I didn't see anything on WH site.
BC Broncos offers a kit using this box without the ram. BC Broncos
It really depends on what you are going to do with your Bronco.
