EGR Tube & Manifold Adapter: 1984(ish) 4.9L 300 F-150 4x4

This 300 has given me more problems than I have ever had on any engine! I do not know whether it's my location (Interior Alaska) or that these parts simply do not exist any more.

I'm looking for the EGR to Manifold Adapter that fits on an inline 6 with a solid exhaust manifold (some of the earlier 90's models had a split manifold with a smaller adapter).

No parts store I visited even knew what it was let alone how to find it. So, I thought: Why not buy the whole EGR Tube and maybe it would come with the adapter? I cannot find the EGR Tube! Arrrgghhh!

It is shaped like an 'E', almost, and is fairly thick (~1/2" OD) with flanged ends. It has nothing coming off the tube itself, it's just a straight tube.

I have looked at LMC and actually spoken to them, but they really need a Ford part number to be helpful. Is there a way to find a Ford part number for the EGR Tube? And, does anybody know of a good place to find these on the Internet?

Thank you in advance!

Finding parts like that is a common problem. What some have done is used SS appliance gas line with adapters/fittings from a hardware store to get it hooked up.

That seems like it would be a LOT more economical than getting one fabricated at a machine shop; thank you for the tip, I'll head to my local hardware store tonight.

Thank you. I'll see if I can't get a picture today. It looks similar to ITEM # 5 on the LMC Ford website, catalogue page 45 (see: Truck Parts and Truck Accessories). It kind of curves in the middle, though.
