This started happening about 3 weeks ago.


When going up a hill the car would start downshifting and would not pull as hard as it used to even on a strait.

Now I barely made it home it shut of right in the drive way. I had to push the gas down to the floor to get it going 15mph at a 10 degree slope and it would stay about 3k rpm and would not accelerate further.

I thought it was my cat at first but with a few hits by a hammer it seemed to be cleen.

Any help would be great.

Hi and welcome to FTE! Sorry to hear about your Escape problem. Have you ever changed your fuel filter? They are fairly cheap and easy to replace. Can't hurt.

I took of my cat and cleaned it out, the car started running better but still have problems on the freeway. Like going up the hills.

Today while going to school the rgv valve exploded. I had that fixed and was on my way. Car still hass loss of power. So mabey it is the filter.
