Oil Pressure Fluctuating
I have a 91 F150 with 150000 miles. Yesterday, comming home from a fishing trip, the oil pressure started fluctuating. Until then it always held right at the m-a in Normal. To be very specific, when I accelerate and the engine RPM's go over 1900-2000, the gauge dips to low and sometimes goes to the bottom and the red engine light comes on. When the gears shift and the RPM's drop back below 1900 the pressure goes back up. There are no noises, knocks grinding, etc. There is also no rise in engine temp. I've read this could be anything from a bad sending unit, bad oil pump/drive shaft or main bearing. I'm going to get a mechanical gauge and install tonight but wanted to know if anyone else has seen this specifically or had any thoughts. Thanks.

My truck goes to nothing at an idle. I put in a mechanical guage, and it reaffirmed it. I'm just going to run it until it's making bad noises. Probably not the best route to take, but right now I don't have the time to pull the engine.
