need a carb spacer for my 72 F-100 302 !!
Found my vacuum leak..big gap between my carb and the manifold on the back side. my buddy says there should be a metal spacer plate between them. I've looked around and made a few calls but no one has this part. Ford and Federated don't.
Any one know of a part number or something?
Thanks,
Dan

I had the same problem when I bought my truck..Thought it was a vacuum line, so changed all of them, to no avail. Thought it was the carb, needing rebuilt, to no avail.... When my father was visiting me, I told him the problem I was having.... We went out and looked, someone had turned the adapter plate upside down and put it back on... I know you are probably laughing at me, but pops had a 72 Ranger and when he took it in for service one time, they did the same thing putting it back together..... He also told me to put an extra thick gasket on it to stop any leaks that may occur from warping....
If that does not help you, then try hunting junk yards.... they might be able to help you..

Do you have the two barrel Holley (Motorcraft) setup? If so, I think I still have the spacer I took off of my truck. It has the water passage though that allows the coolant to pass through it from the heater fitting at the front of the intake. It doesn't need to be hooked up to fuction. It's just one of Ford's fine "What the..."
