Project Ford

I have several 70's Ford trucks I use for work. But, I recently purchased a truck that my son and I are going to fix up to be his first vehichle. We have several things in mind and I have lots of questions.

It's a 69 Ford with a 3/4 ton Dana 60 in the back and a 1/2 ton dana 44 in front (coil springs). It has a 4-speed with a newer transfer case that has 4 low. It has a 460 that is balanced and blueprinted and has plenty of power. The body is a 72, and in fairly descent shape.

Now the questions...

We want to lift the truck enough to mount some 44 inch mud tires underneath..

1. Can I possibly make the current front-end strong enough to support the tires and possible abuse? Or do I need to try to go to a bigger, dana 60, leafs, etc.. in the front? Is this even possible?

I will skip some of the other questions as the answer to this question will eliminate some of the others...maybe

HELP
