ford 9 3/8 question

i have a 1959 f 250 in another town (storage). i am told it has a 9 3/8s rear in it. the truck has 4.56 gears in it right now. i was wanting to put 3.25s in it. do they make 3.25 gears for a 9 3/8? i assume it will have 31 spline axles. is there any website that have information for 9 3/8s rears?

I would take a wild guess that your 59 F-250 has a dana 60 in the rear. I think the talles 60 gears are 3.31's or thereabouts., but not very common. 3.54's are everywhere.

I would make real sure you ID the axle before you buy anything for it. Who knows what butchery previous owners have done.

if it has a 9 3/8 gearset in it, you can just put 9 inch gears in it. the carrier is the same, it is the housing that is notched to fit the 9 3/8 ring gear.
i have been looking for 9 3/8 gears for 6 years, and have not found anyone that has them.
my 7 litre has a 3.25 geared 9 3/8 in it. it is a bitch to start off without slipping the clutch or spinning the tires.
