road paint

On a recent trip home from Ottawa I have somehow accumulated splash up of that god awful yellow road paint. Does anyone have any luck getting this stuff off? I took it to one detailer who had the truck a whole day then announced they couldn't do anything with it. Another detailer I called wants $350. I found a U.S. site selling stuff they call road paint remover and in the blurb they say it was originally developed as an adhesive spray remover.

I thought that CTC sold some stuff specifically for removing road paint.
Somehow I don't think Goo Gone will do the job on road paint jike it does on crayon.

Would oven cleaner work for this? I've seen it used to take off spray paint.

Before truck lettering became mostly vinyl stickers and hand painted was the common method, removal was done with oven cleaner and had reasonable results.
The only question is whether or not road paint is about the same material as lettering paint?
I personally would try a very small amount of oven cleaner, or any product for that matter, on a spot where any damage would not be noticable if it reacted with the truck finish.

I have oven cleaner for the BQQ already, I'll try that first. If not I'll look for the Miguire's clay. The wipes aren't a bad idea I just didn't want the hassle of ordering chemicals from over the border.

There should be an equivalent product in Canadian Stores.

CTC ?
How about CT. Canadian Tire ?

or a Bodyshop supply place
