firewall boot for steering shaft.
I have a 2006 F-250 that makes an annoying sqeek comming from this boot. The dealer just squirts lube down here to help the problem but the noise is still there. How can I get some lubrication in there properly. How does this come apart? Does any one have a fix for this?

I'd disconnect the steering shaft from the firewall, then slide it out of the boot, clean it up really good, and use a heavy grease on the boot and the shaft. Put it all back together and you aughta be squeek free.

I have never taken a 2006 apart since I no longer work at a dealership. But, on most Fords it is more then just boot. There is usually a piece of foam and a seal inside that boot, which is probably causing the squeaking. You have a brand new vehicle, it is not 1940, have them fix it properly and do not accept the squirting the grease in as a solution because it is not one, imo.
As for the boot, it usually requires pulling the steering column or shaft on a Ford becaue it is one piece.
