What is the orange cord over the oil filter?

As I was under the truck today, I noticed an orange cord, like an extention cord, just above my oil filter. Could not trace it and did not have time to look long. What is this, a heater maybe?

Do they come standard on the SuperDutys? Not that I will need it, North Florida, but it would be nice when I go up to see my dad in Jeffersonville, OH.

It is the block heater and the male plug in end of it should be stashed behind the driver side front bumper somewhere. Mine is orange.

Thanks, Tenn. I still have not been able to find the end, but I will look for it this week.

Bill, just to clarify, the cord is orange at the block connection, but it is black where ya plug it into the extension cord. Hope this helps. Nevertheless, it looks just like any other plug and it has a cover that protects the pins.

I'll look for that. Thanks again for the help.
