FE 396 Powered burnout with 46" Baja Claws

I made this vid cause Proleator said my engine couldn't turn these tires. But since I have it you might like to see it.
It is short because these are expensive a$$ tires. Enjoy!

Sounds like a pretty nice sounding 396. Wish i had it in my pickup. I know alot of people think FE's are boat anchors but for the cubic inches they can be a hell of a motor.

Yeah, I am happy with my FE! I don't think I will need anything bigger. Even with the 232 @ 0.05. cam it pulls off idle and has enough top end for me. Thanks for the complaments.

Yeah, There is nothing like aFE! My 396 is as light as a 351W small block and makes more power with less cam.

Yeah I think a FE weighs like 100 or 150 pounds lighter than a 460 if i can remember right. They have there own unique sound to. Gotta love it!!

Never really thought about it before, but the FE's really do have thier own unique sound, don't they? My mild 901 cammed 390 always gets passengers yelling "SHIFT". The old FE won't go over 4500, but 3500 sounds like a much heavier cammed engine running 5500 and 4500 sounds like 7000. It pulls like it too. These engines are torque monsters. My 7500 lb highboy will easilyy spin 35" BFG's in third on dry pavement getting on the freeway. That's not dropping the clutch either. 4th gets loose in the rain.

Cheater!!!! No fair doing it in a water box!

Just kidding. That's got to be a pretty stout 390 to turn them big ol' 49s like that. Congrats.

By the way, what rear gears do you have in it?

LOL, I have 5.13 gears and a Detroit. If the tires werent so damn expensive I would have done a much longer burnout and really let the engine scream.
