I just don't have the cash to buy a grill and bumper/plus paint the top to match.

Since I have to buy a headlight housing new I'd like to put that cash toward the upgrade.

They no longer carry the lights, but when you are ready to do it certafit over by the airport (canvasback Dr.) has the grill and bumper cheap. They also have the header panel. When you are ready to do it let me know, as I own a body shop about an hour away from you and can hook you up on paint.

Yes and no. The header has to be cut out, but the bolt holes line up for all the new fasteners. The filler piece has to be cut as it is a different shape as well

Hello...

I've been lurking here for awhile reading different tidbits- but haven't really posted.

I really really want to change out the grill on my 03 X to an 05 style grill. I understand that I need to either trim down a true 05 grill to make it work, or purchase an "after-market" version that is already pre-cut. The only aftermarket grill I have been able to locate is on Ebay- and IMO a bit pricey for a grill.

Can anybody point me in the right direction? I watched the video(s0 in the link- and the person in the video mentions M&M but I can't find this.

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Mike

I saw a grill on ebay that looks like a 05, but fits the earlier trucks and it wasn't cut down.

Just did my light conversion this weekend!

Only problem is my high beams and low beams are backwards. There are three wires going to the lights, anyone know which one I need to switch?

not sure because im not out at my truck. but just use a test light and put the low beams on and see which wire is hot. then check what one is hot when the high beams are on. should take like 2 minutes.

After reading this thread, I'm a little confused. Do you have to change the header in order to just do the lights? Or can you do the lights by themsleves?

I haven't really looked into this, but my '00 lights are yellow and it's time to replace.

There are lights on ebay that look like 05 model lights but are made for 99-03.

If you want to change the grill in the future there is also 05 grills on ebay that are made for 99-03 model.

So you don't have to change the header anymore, you just have to find those aftermarket lights.

Here they are!

99-04 SUPERDUTY CONVERSION 07 HEADLAMP HEADLIGHTS SET | eBay

Edit: I was wrong, posted to fast. This one says in the discription that you have to cut your header to make these lights fit. That is another option tho.

What are the part numbers and where did you buy your lights, relay ?
Does it show which wire to tap into ?
I wathced the other video and he tapped into the high beam wire (not sure what color ), then grounded, and hooked up the hot side for the relay to work.
