Factory Reprogram of PCM? '97 4.6
Please translate this sticker (has something to do with the Powertrain Control Module)
Just picked up a '97 E-150 with the 4.6 Triton. It has this sticker attached under the hood, I can't read all the writing .. looks like Reprogram FR PCM, New number is F7UF-12A050 KD or something like that. What does this mean? Is this a factory recall fix or option?
Thanks, Jim

The computer was re-programmed (flashed) by the dealer. It was either a Recall, or an attempt to fix an issue.
They have to put that sticker on it just like when they change the catalytic converter. It effects the emissions-status of the vehicle.
I don't know if they go back that far, but you could go to the dealer and request an OASIS report and see what the actual work was. Maybe
