I'm thinking about finding a donor 4x4 vehicle to swap many of my 69's parts into. The 390, and C6 tranny and much of the interior and the bed will be transfered to the 4x4 frame/cab. My cab has some rust on the drip rail that may be more trouble than it's worth to fix. Plus, I'm thinking I want a 4x4 if I'm going to finish this project .
I assume most of the parts for any 67-72 are compatible, no?
If I find a donor with a 4 speed, will the transfer case be compatible? I undertsand that there may be a divorced transfer case system on these trucks. If so, will the transfer shifter be positioned correctly or require a modified shaft length?
What transfer case do you all reccomend for use with a C6?
I realize the grill changed in 70, but are the 67-70 and 69-72 grilles interchangeable?
Are there any changes to the beds in these years other than emblems or trim?
Do all 67-72 F250/350 trucks have 8x6.5 bolt patterns like my 69 F250? And, do all of these trucks have a Dana 60 up front and a 60 or 70 in the rear?
If necessary, will my rear dana 60 bolt onto 67-72 f250/350 4x4 springs without significant modification?
Lots of questions, feel free to respond to any and or all of them.
The only thing I can help with is the Grill. They all should interchange. The only thing I was told is the 70 model grill was shallower than the rest and might need to be shimmed to work on the other trucks. So the 70 might make the others stick out a little more on other model trucks.
