I went off roading about 4 days ago and have had some new noises coming from my truck since then. I have a constant "whine" or "squeal" coming from the lower A/C pully (atleast I think). At first, I thought that it was my fan, so I took off the cover and cleaned the housing all around and sprayed wd-40 around the fan itself. But this didn't work. Also, the noise increases when I accelerate. Does anyone have any other ideas of what might be causing this? I also get a fast clicking noise when making turns. Just wondering if anyone has had experience with any of this. Thanks for any input
Probably just water in one of the pulley bearings. The noise will go away when it spins out, probably will take a week.
I had the same thing happen when I took our '04 Explorer mudding for the first and only time. My wife got pissed off because it was making a whining noise for about a week (that's why I bought my truck. Also sounded like a rock was stuck somewhere in the fan and was tumbling around.
if they are in a bubber boot the boot just has lots of grease in it usually those kind need to be replaced by the time they start making noise. or at least all of mine have been that way. do you have the kind with the boot on them? honestly I would replace it once you pinpoint the noise .
