2006 S-Crew; 6.5 Foot Bed; Did They Put It Back on WRONG?
I bought my new '06 Lariat (S-Crew, 5.4L, 3.73, Black on Black) a few weeks ago (and love it, by the way). I negotiated in my deal a Rhino Liner. I picked up the truck from the dealer yesterday after install and although I looked it over pretty good at the dealer (looked for solid contact at the edges - no early peeling, looked for potential overspray). One of the things I did not notice until I got home was that the bed does not sit flush in the corners - there is a gap in the corners where the sides of the bed meet the back of the bed near the cab of the truck... I know that there are 'slits' where the floor of the bed meets the back wall to allow for drainage, but I did not think this existed in the corners. I also thought that as I drove the rig today that the bed seemed to jump around a little more than it should, but that may have been only because I noticed the corners not meeting flush and started to worry about the bed not being secured correctly.... is there a way, outside of taking it to the dealer, to insure the corners not meeting flush is OK, and that the bed is attached correctly?

so i looked at some other new model F150's... turns out that ford not only has the slits at the corner of the bed floor meeting the back bed wall at the cab, but has molded slits in the corners as well (for water drainage i assume) - so this is normal.
i think i was just paranoid about my new truck - this was me stepping up to 'the truck i always wanted' after a good review, so i am a little protective... it will kill me to go get the first 'spring load' of plants, bark dust, topsoil for the sprucing up of the yard
thanks for the replies.... even the damned logical ones!
