I have a 1973 F-100, 3-speed on the column, with no power steering.

I want to convert it to power steering and this is what I know.

The steering shaft in my truck is too long.

I hunted high and low for a 3-speed steering column that came with power steering. I had no luck.

I bought a steering column that came out of a truck with power steering, but it had an automatic transmission.

Here is my question.

If I take the shorter steering shaft out of the column I bought, and put it in the 3-speed column in my truck, will it be the right length, so I can then convert the whole truck to power steering?

Yes, I would think it would work. I have a '73 F100 2wd 4spd. I got the center shaft from a auto column to do my conversion. It worked fine.

The motor is a 1972 351 cleveland. Will the power steering bracket be unique to that motor?

If so, do you have an idea where I can get one?

If not, what other motors will the bracket fit?

a bracket from a truck with a 351m or 400 with p/s should work i think
