I just obtain some frame mounts out of a 1977 302 Ford truck to use on my 1968 Mercury truck. When I placed them on, the bottom two holes do not fit. Do I have to drill thoses two holes out on both sides or
I had sort of the same problem. I obtained mount towers from a '76 302 to go in my 69 F-100 to install a 351W with 4-speed. I first bolted in the drivers side tower with the top two bolts and then lined up the passengers side with it. Both towers were installed using existing bolt holes then I mounted my engine to check line up with my frame clutch pivot and the one on the block. They lined up correctly. I pulled engine back out and both towers were lined up on two existing front bolt holes in the cross member but had to drill two new holes for the lower rear ones. Hope this info helped.
