Hey everyone! Just thought I would let you know I finally got my new lift! I went with the Rancho 4" with the RS9000X 9-way adjustable shocks with the adjust-on-the-fly remote! I'm also adding a 3" body lift. With that 7" of lift, I'm puttin 35X12.50 ProComp M/T's mounted on Rock Crawler series 97 rims (I figured that would look sharp and be appropriate for my 97 F150). More exciting than the fact that I finally got it in is that a friend who knows what he is doing is going to help me put is on and teach me what I need to know, so when it's all said and done, I can show my truck off and say, "I put that lift on". Yall don't have any idea how excited I am. I'm puttin it on sometime in May so I will try and get some pics up of it when it's finished! It's gonna look wicked!
what's up cleevesj? I guess when I said "hey everyone", I should have began it "hey cleevesj", because you are, yet again, the only person that seems to want to respond to anything I post. Thanks dude for always having something to give me. I really appreciate it since I have never gotten any feedback (with the exception of one guy who thought my title was misleading) from anyone else on this forum!
Thank you! I really appreciate that. And I will definately do the best I can! But like I said, I've never done this before. I'm relying on my friends who have done it a few times to help me along, but I will try and take as many pics as I can.
I have a stock 99 F-150 with 265/70R17. I would like to lift a couple of inches. The 4 to 6 inch range seems a little extreme for my purposes. I would rather stick with a suspension lift as opposed to a body lift. I have been looking, but everything is 4 or larger. Does anyone have any ideas for me?
I lifted my truck 7.5 inches...all suspension. One thing that I didn't do was compensate for the yoke being pulled from the tranny. I didn't even realize it was a problem until it was actually a problem. I might have some tranny damage now because the driveline and yoke vibrated so much that it's causing the tranny to leak from the rear/output seal. I am now seeing if there is anything I can do to prevent that aside of having some serious tranny work done. There is a spacer you can buy that installs between the rear differential and the driveline that worked for me to take away the vibration but the damage to the output seal and tranny is already done. Buy the space and save yourself some trouble, it's a cheap alternative to having your driveline extented.
Well, I actually think Ford's are a little bit higher than Chevy's and it also depens on how long your wheelbase is. I have a regular cab, shortbed, so 4 in. is going to be a good bit for my truck, but if you have the ext. cab or crew cab, you're right it's not going to be that much.
