Hi guys I just bought a 1970 f-100 2wd with a 302 in it and a four speed, I got it for 280 dollars (canadian) , after I adjusted the clutch it has only some minor problems
1. The drivers side front signal light workes for signalling but will not work when I just put on the driving lights
2. The four way flashers will not blink they act as a solid light
3. the lip around the filler spout for the incab gas tank is bent in on the bottom and bent out on the top
any help on these problems will be much appreciated

PS what are some cheap mods I can do for a little more power without losing much of my fuel mileage!:7

1)There should be ONE bulb with TWO filaments in that light.
One for Signal & One for a Running light.
Check the bulb and replace it.
(Or does this just have one function only?)

2)Replace the flasher.

Thanks dennis I will change out that bulb tommorow also is there a possibility of a bad ground?

Some things I did to my 302 that increase perfomance and gas milage;

-Headers and dual exhaust.
-Swap out ignition points for a Pertronix unit and then replace coil with their flame thrower.
-Replaced automatic choke with manual setup.
-Make sure throttle linkage opens throttle up all the way when you put your foot to the floor.

Just another question but what size of pipe would you guys use in your trucks with 302's I am looking at 2 1/4 does that seem high flow enough

I'm running 2 1/4" on my truck and that seems to work OK. Mind you, I have never tried anything else.

I replaced the bulb yesterday, but the socket is so rusty it has a hole right through it. I can get the flashers to go on but that light does not flash, although it does work on the driving light setting (it never flashes).

PS all information you give me is crucial as I am about to turn 16 (october 16) and I plan to have my truck on the road the first day I have my licence so it has to be street legal by then, thanks again
