F350 vs 4-550?

Im in the market for a F350 crew, all options, tow boss, 4:30 gear etc... truck will be about $51k say www.ford.com. Well while i was surfing i ran acorss a F450 crew most of the same options etc etc on a dealer lot. Now i can give up the sun roof, and the reverse sensors, and the few little things to get a F450.

My questions are this,

1) how much weight difference is in the two trucks,

2) how is the ride quality

3) how is the performace of the two stock and with parts?

Sorry if this has been discusses before, i used the search and didnt come up with a lot on this.

It may be best to know what it is you plan to do with this truck. The F450 is meant as a work beast and would also make an awesome camper/trailer hauler. The ride quality is very stiff when empty. Gearing is low and mpg suffers. With a diesel figure 10 mpg is good. Don't expect much more.

Licensing may be much more in your state with the 450. The 350 may also be considered commercial in some areas.
Performance wise, the 450 will stomp the 350 in hauling. It has bigger brakes, heavier duty axles, suspension, and tires.

If you don't need to haul huge loads or pack around tons of dirt, the 350 is a better all around vehicle, and certainly more comfortable to drive.

thanks guys, i dont tow a lot, probably the most would be 8k pounds.. i know i dont even need a SD to pull that just dont tell my wife.

The only real reason i even thought about the 450 is there is a awesome one on ebay..

again thanks for the info.. i dont think i would be happy with a 450 for a daily driver if they really only get 10 mpg. i only get 11 now so im sure i dont want to go down in that department!
