Snowmobiles

Hey guys I was just wondering if you had any input on snowmobiling up in the Fairbanks area. I really wanna get a sled because I love riding my four wheeler and have ridden some sleds back home in Iowa but I don't know exactly what I should be looking for. I like trail riding on quads but is it similar on a sled?? I don't need anything huge but something that will ride good and probably a two seater since my wife may want to go once in a while. I won't get there til the end of march so I'll probably use the off season to find a good sled, any pointers??? Thanks alot guys, schmidty

Not sure what is popular up there when it comes to 2-seaters. Each model has their version. My questions would be is there enough powder or are the trails hard pack. If hard pack I would consider a fan cooled sled. If there is enough powder to throw snow on the intercooler than a liquid model will do. I think a fan cool might be the way to go. Also look at EFI versus a carb model. Once again I'm not up north were its butt cold so not sure if EFI is the way to go. Once those questions are answered plus what ever else someone brings up, ie second set of hand warmers would be nice, then it's down to what brand do you like.
