Anyone been fishing yet?

Got my line wet for the first time fresh water since. . .2-3 years ago? Had fun, didn't catch anything though. Was surprised at how warm the water is! Was hoping to snag a few prespawn/spawning bass but the shores were empty Anyone else having any luck? Or should I start looking a post spawn patterns for bass? I'm used to it being to early now, but as mild as winters been, might be up for many months of predawn fishing

Anyone hit the beaches yet? Puppy drum or Blue fish?

Where were you fishing?

I hit the OV Pier this last weekend and did well on some horse croakers. Lots of others were catching a lot of croakers of all sizes.

Hey, I remember you. . .been while man, whats going on? I was fishing a lake thats 2 minutes up the road. Biggest bass I pulled out of there 4.5 lbs. But the water was much colder, I think I missed the best of the season already

I must really be late if croakers are hitting How deep were you catching them?

They were in about 16 feet of water - right off the pier. It's not late - they're a little bit early this year - and of course the "little bit of summer" we had helped!

I checked out your trip on the peir and surf site, those were some nice fish!

Yeah it is, I got my pole in the back on my truck, need to find out if I'm allowed to fish the TCC lake Might be a good incentive to get there early once in awhile

I guess that would help, lol. The Virginia Beach Campus. Seen catfish, carp (HUGE), bluegill (Big for blues), and small bass swimming the shallows during the evenings in summer. And there plenty of threadfin shad swiming around as well.

I don't know - but I may have to get me a fresh water license and meet up with you. Those carp are supposed to be fun!

Really? I've caught 1 carp before. It was fun, yes, but it was completely on accident. From what I hear, they don't normally take crickets. Whats the hot ticket for catching them?

Need to hit up security tonight and see if they have an answer for fishing the lake

Corn - plain canned corn - small hooks. Thread the corn onto the hook so you "hide" the hook. Light tackle - they are really shy.
