Gibson headers.

Hey, I just installed a set of Gibson headers on my 1999 Ford SD F-250 4X4 V-10 and now when the truck idles it surges. I pulled the codes and a P0232 code comes up? I have always recieved great help from this site and I do appreciate all the help. Thanks!

Check everything you may have come into contact with while changing the headers, although I know of nothing that's close to the exhaust that could cause electrical problems with your fuel pump.

Reset the computer (disconnect battery for a few hours) and see if it comes back, who knows how long that code has been in there.

Did you get the check engine light?

Check the vacuum hoses, and other sources of unmetered air (air entering intake without going through the MAF). Sounds like the PCV elbow went.

Weird... keep us posted!

First Thanks! And no I did not get a check engine light and i have a superchip tuner so i checked then reset the codes and got the code again! At first I got a p1000 I think that said something like not enough data then the p0232 comes back! I went back and checked every thing again making sure all was tight. One other thing the EGR pipe that comes off the driver side exhaust mantifold was hard to get back connected but I did get it! If that is leaking air could that cause my problem?? I have no ticking noises that are coming from the headers! I'm still scratching my head! HELP!!!! ...lol

You'll get the P1000 until the computer passes it's tests (or "monitors"). And then it goes away. It's a "not all tests passed" type message.

If the EGR pipe was leaking where you describe, you'd HEAR it

If we can believe that code, you need to start checking the electrical situation with the fuel pump. My 2001 has fuse # 19 under the hood being the fuel pump fuse. The rest, I'd have to look up, but that ain't happenin' right now...
