How to clean fuel injectors

What would be the best method to use to clean the fuel injectors on a 96 4.6L? Can this be done @ home or is it better to let the pros do it? Or is it as simple as adding something to the fuel tank and drive them clean?

In my experience, the Techron cleaner (in your tank) does work for general maintenance. A four-pack is, I think, about $10 at Costco. Probably should use two for a truck.

If that doesn't cure your problem, there are kits available to force stronger cleaners into the fuel rails. Haven't noted the current price, but it's probably on the order of $100 or more. You can buy your own or pay someone who has one.
