After 3 weeks, I'd consider the key lost. I'd call a locksmith to get me into the truck (free for AAA members). Then I'd try to pull the ignition lock and replace with a factory unit. I'd keep the doors unlocked for a while until I'd have the time and energy to replace the door locks with a fitting set.

Hope this helps.

Your truck should not hurt from sitting, unless it gets to be more than 2 months, in my opinion.

George

PS: Get a spare set of keys made this time!

Take the ignition switch out and take it to a good locksmith, that way you don't have to replace anything. I think it cost me $12.00 to have keys made for my '67 that had no keys when I bought it. You could always hot wire it in the mean time though.
Good Luck !!

Or take the pass. lock to locksmith and he will read numbers on it and make new key for you. Or take wire and connect to pos. side of coil and to pos side of batt. And jump soloind with screwdriver and drive it around the block

The later of GWB's post was going to be my suggestion if all you want is to drive it a short distance or just start it up. I acctually ran down a burnt wire that way.

I can send you an ignition switch and key for a '68 for $15 total if you're interested...
