I got my first bronco

I'm probably a little biased twords the 300 since I really like mine, but I think you should rebuild it. 300's are cheap to rebuild, even short blocks are cheap. It sounds like you need your 351 truck. I think the 300 is also easier to rebuild although I'm not for sure since I haven't had to rebuild mine yet. 300 broncos are also pretty rare and I wish I could find one like yours. The 300 will also last much longer than a 351. Unless you need tons of power especially on the top end, the 300 will be good for you. I'm not saying your one of these people, but a lot of people see "6 cylinder" and bash the 300, and I, thinking my F-250 had a 351 originally before I got it was dissapointed when I realized it had a 300 (guess you can't complain when the truck was free), but the 300 really grew on me and now is hands down my favorite motor. my F-250 with a 300 has a lots of low end power and pulls anything I want it to. Realistically though it probably won't haul a 30 foot gooseneck loaded with construction equipment or farm machinery like a diesel or built 460 could (never hurts to try though!). but I guess you couldn't pull a trailer like that with a bronco anyway. Like I said in my earlier post the 300 in my F-250 had no problem hauling my friends Crown Vic. Well anyway, I'm sure you've lost all intrest in my long post by now, but I just thought I would give my $.02 about the 300. Good Luck!

If i had the money for a rebuild then I diffently rebuild the 300 but it will be $200 machine shop and $400 for the rebuild kit plus the heads worked on which they said $160 to get it rebuilt. I guess I will swap motors between the two trucks at least for now. Will I need to buy any extra parts for the swap

this is not my first truck I have worked on and I have checked most of all the things like the PCV and installed a vented oil filler cap and other things like that. the previous owner had lst a young kid drive it when it was driving fine and after he had brought it back to him couple of days later the motor was blowing oil out of the dip stick tube, the story is the kid had really hot rodded it the couple of days he had it

He came into my workplace last night just beaming with joy. I had recommended before that before we tear the darn thing apart to run some seafoam through the intake and see if those rings break up. Well, he told me he ran some gasoline through the top end and the thing is running like 3x better then before. So, he said he was keeping the 300 in there and was gonna let it go. Woot, 2 points for me.
I still hate wiring. Fusible links....pah! So brakes this weekend? If we get those done, we can do some rivets on my truck or something . Either way, I"ll ttyl. Gotta lift. talk to you later
