Did they put am 8ft. stepside on these trucks?

I am considering new bed options for my '78 F-250 Supercab 4x4. The bed on mine is in pretty bad shape and needs replaced. I've always liked the look of a long narrow bed, but I've never seen one on these trucks. I noticed that LMC has bed wood for a stepside longbed, but they don't carry the rest pf the stepside parts.

Basically, would it be possible to find a stepside longbed that I could put on my truck? Also, does anyone have pictures of one? I don't care if it's a 78 or not, as I am going to be putting an eariler grill on my truck in the near future.

Thanks in advance.

BTW, I did a search and found a lot of references to stepsides, but no longbeds.

I have to say I've never seen one in person, and I could only imagine how ugly that would be.

Yea, my main problem with it is the supercab. I really like the look of a long narrow bed on a regular cab truck, but the supercab might look a little strange.

Whats wrong with strange? I think its more fun to have a truck that sticks out above the rest! If I had a super or crew cab, I would definitely throw the old stepside on it just to be differnt, but thats just my 2 cents worth.

Now that is one gorgeous truck. Do you have any more pics of it? Is the owner on FTE? I'd love to see some more of it.

I think I may just try it and see how it looks. If I decide it looks bad, I'll just take it off and make a trailer out of it, and put a styleside back on. Anyone know where I can find an 8ft. narrow bed?
