Does anyone know where I can get my hands on a table of wire gauge/amperage data for 12V automotive wiring? Surely there must be an industry standard for this. No redneck engineering allowed . Thanks.
i work a commercial electrical out fit. we size our wire by amperage not voltage, 480 is the largest voltage source i have messed with. the way we do it is. 14gauge is good for 15A, 12gauge 20A, 10 gauge 30A, 8 gauge 40A, 6 gauge 50A,this is for A/C current systems now im not exactly positive but DC current may require larger wire being that current only flows one way. but you can look at your fuse box (in your truck) and see what size fuses correspond with what size wire. meaning what size wire is hooked to a 10A circut, 15A, 20, 30, etc.
I really wanted to know what the existing wiring was good for before I started adding to it. Some of these items are on the battery saver circuit and I'd lilke to retain that feature on the adders.
How about putting a flux capacitor in there and powering it with cow chips, that would add a few ponies.
Holy smokes, I overlooked that one. Hanford is about 135 miles from me and given the history of the place and their toxic discharges that they concealed for decades, I can probably find some downwinder cow chips produced by three eyed cows and with a few free electrons floating around that will really come to life in the flux capacitor. The phantom is more cool than I once thought.
*Is Mr. Fusion still in business . I need stickers to put on my windows.
