air inlet louver for SD Grill
Hi all, I am trying to locate vendor or at least the name of a part for my SD. I have seen them but cant remember where, it is a louvered plate that mounts in the inside of the grill allowing more air into the inlet. It locates behind the grill on the drivers side in front of the air breather inlet.
any help will be appreciated

Is this what you are talking about? CLICK HERE
If it is don't waste your money. Doo the ZOODAD mode. Take your grill off and use a hole saw to cut a couple holes in the support and then if you wish use window/door scree to cover it to keep things out of it.
If this is not what you are talking about then I am not sure I understand.

hey thanks that looks like the kit I had been looking for. the detail in the picture shows that I dont need it. I was told it had a baffle set up in it to knock out the incoming water.. not going to happen with the way that is constucted.
you have any pictures or a link to pics of a truck with the Zoodad installed?

I modified the Zoodad.... the other day I was at Sutherlands Lumber yard and walking in the sheet metal area, I found a pack of 2 1/2 inch round metal louvered vent. I placed 3 of them in the face where the Zoodad goes. I think it works well at keeping the water out, at least in large quanities. I am looking at putting some 1/8 inch hard ware cloth over the inlet to my air filter.. I'll get some pictures later.

By the time you get all that "protection" installed, you'll nearly be back to the factory design.
Every one of my 4 Super Duty trucks has had the "zoodad" mod done to them (including my current '05). None have ever injested any water during normal driving.
Of course, if you tend to seek out lakes & ponds, then I suggest a snorkel instead.
