I know that this has been talked about alot but i spent 2 hours going through previous forums and found nothing i was really looking for.
I have a 1992 F-150 302 E4OD.
I have found 3 pickups with mass air i dont know for sure yet what there transmission is yet. If they have the same transmission what do I need out of the truck? Do they have to be the same engine size?

This site gives alot of info on it. Engine size doesn't matter because the MAF sensor detects changes, that's why it's so desireable.
you will need the entire harness, maf sensor, and computer. dont get any of this if its off of a 96 though. that would be an obd-II setup and is not that great.
No. The 96 computer is a 105 pin or something like that, while the 95-older computers are 60 pin. The business ends of the wiring might be the same, but you can't connect the 96 harness to the 95 computer.
Well now that me and my dad have some time we want to make this little 302 have a few more *****. we want to pull the engine and bore it out convert to mass air and add a supercharger and probably throw in a cam while we have it out. just checking if these are the right computers to look for?
the Vex1 and the Way1 will work for you because they are OBD1 and it's a 60 pin ECU. Not sure about the tranny in the HUG2 but as long as it's for and E4OD tranny it will worlk for you. If you need a HUG2 let me know cause i got one here that works perfectly
Just stick with everything from 95 down . 1 O2 . get all harness(motor and engine bay) it will fall right in place of yours.I take old (non Maf) and new engine bay harness and keep everything for old cab connections and use the new for running the ECM and merge the 2. Because the in cab connections are different but you can figure that out. The air sensor on front of your intake is moved to the Maf airbox. You will need air intake hoses ,MAF and air box .
