I own a 02 sport trac, im putting in a 3 in body and then the TT/Shackle lift so about 5 in of lift, I need to know what size tires i should put on to make the truck look right, too big and the tires look dumb, too little and the truck looks dumb, I would also like to know what size rim and the back spacing, and does anyone have pictures?????
umm...you are the ultimate interpretor of "dumb". What do you want? I first lifted my truck and then measured it to make so my tires would fit off road with the suspension travel. I really don't care what it looks like so long as it gives me the best performance.
boy you are kinda a jack A$$, all i wanted to know is if someone has done this body lift and what size tires they were able to use ( I like to get a game plan set up before i just jump into something)............ thank god there are a lot of nice people on this forum who help out, everyone could do without your snappy responses............... P.S. YOU DIDN'T HAVE TO RESPOND TO THIS THREAD!!!!!
A good web site to check out modified cars and trucks is www.cardomain.com
You can search specifically for Sport Tracs and you'll find pics of both raised and slammed. Usually the owners have a write up about their ride and what they've used.

Since you are new here I'll go out of my way to give you some pointers and show you how they did work for you here. First of all, no one but you knows what "looks dumb" means to you. You might look at my truck and say it looks dumb because it's not level. I think it looks preety cool. So what do I do? show you my truck and have you say, gee that looks dumb? Is that the help you wanted?
No. I went to the next level for you. I asked you what are you trying to do and showed you how I did mine. You responded with the above...although ignore your sarcastic and ignorant part of the response...by saying you want to know what combinations of things have been done and what works.
Now that's an entirely different question than "what looks dumb". And what happened? Now that you're clearer in what your asking, you got a nice web link to some examples. (I guess...didn't look at it myself.)
So you see, I did help you by getting you to help yourself a little more.
The moral is you have to spell out in detail what you are looking for on this board. Trust me, it works much better that way.
You think I'm an axx? I didn't rag on you for lack of punctuation, run on sentances and general nonsense reply (second post) that a few guys do on a normal basis. Be glad they didn't try to "help" you.
if you go to big of a tire you could damage your tranny or rear end and your speedo will be off if you go to 1010tires.com they have a tire calculator that will tell you how much your speedo is off and if you risk damaging your drivetrain
Hey mab - I'm too lazy to check your website. What kind of damage are you talking about to the driver train with bigger tires? Are we talking 44 inch super swampers or your typical 33-35 inch all terrains?
I've have much worse luck by upping my horespower and causing drivetrain damage than changing my tire size. Just curious.
That's cause it's a wimpy Dana 28, right? My Explorer came with the same stock size, now it's got 31's. I've seen these trucks with the 8.8" rears and dana 35's up front hold 35" and 38" inch, of course with gear changes, but otherwise stock.
My Brother's (wife LOL) has a 99 or 00 wrangler with a Dana 44 in the rear stock. For a 4.0 L? Well it will never break that's for sure!
