Wushing Noise???
Hey Gang, I got all the stuff done to the X, new Rancho 9x - x4, add a leaf in back, 2.5 spring lifts in front, banks 4" exhaust, and rear sway bar.. AirAid air filter.. and I have also set my Superchip on mid level, to tow up to 6K lbs.
I drove the X from Austin to Colorado last week.. not a problem, it road and drive like a champ.. average 18 mpg (diesel) thanks for your help..
NOW FOR THE PROBLEM!! 2001 2x4 7.3 L turbo diesel..
I have noticed since I returned from Colorado, (I did not notice this until yesterday) when I am accelerating hard -and/or pulling my trailer--Then let OFF the gas--the truck make a wushing noice.. not sure where it is coming from.. It seem to run fine, pulls fine, but did have a slight wine in the trannie a few weeks back after I had the fluid changed, but they add more additive and the noise went away..
Any Ideas as to what could be causing this noise?? (no warning lights are on either) Thanks for your input..

that woosh is the 'extra' boost that you are making that is escaping back through your intake. When you let off the throttle (or sometimes when the tranny shifts) the exhaust pressure drops, which allows the compressor on the turbo to slow and it can't hold back all of that boost that has accumulated in your intake and intercooler, so it comes back out. No worries... alot of us have this that have done mods to our rides. I kindof like the noise

I am wondering why I did not hear this too and from Colorado though, .. except I was not pulling a trailer then either.. I had the AirAid put on the day before I left so I really did not get to experience it while pulling my trailer..
Any other thoughts or ideas out there??
