The short-bed F-150 had a 116.8-inch wheelbase and 6 3/4-foot cargo bed. A long-bed regular cab rode a 133-inch wheelbase, holding an 8-foot cargo bed. SuperCabs rode a 138.8-inch wheelbase with a 7-foot bed, or 155-inch with an 8-foot bed.
The years I am intested in are 91-97 but I would think that the 80's trucks would have the same wheel base, but maybe not, we are dealing with Ford who likes to change stuff mid model year all the time.
My reason for asking is I like the crew cab short boxes but have never driven one, so if the extra cab long box is the same wheel base and I can find one to test drive, this will give me an indication of whether I will like them or not. Thanks.
I believe the long bed crew cab has a 168-inch wheelbase. Since the short box is 16 inches shorter, that should make the wheelbase of a short box crew cab 152 inches. I'm not sure what years they made short bed crew cabs, but they're pretty rare around here.
