headers, duals, and a frame rail auxilliary gas tank..
Is it possible to have all three on a 1968 Ranger with a 390 and power steering?
Long headers, or would shorties be needed?
Would a crossover pipe be advisable?
My truck (recently purchased) has duals with glasspacks, looks like someone custom fabricated it, since everything is welded. The driver's side pipe crosses over to the passenger side under the narrow part of the oil pan and it looks like the fabricator welded a patch over the spot in the passenger side pipe where the pipes would normally connect. At about that point the pipes are different diameter then they enter glasspacks. After the glass packs, they seperate and go over the rear axle to dump just behind it - not all the way to the rear bumper.
Will I be taking the truck to an exhaust shop for a custom set up?
Thanks!

headers, duals, and a frame rail auxilliary gas tank..
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 13-Dec-02 AT 07:45 PM (EST)]when I bought my 67 F250 Camper Special with unkown headers. the PO ran the duals outside the frame rails. It let him keep the aux tank but put a mean S bend in the pipes, and then it was welded with smaller dia. pipes at the collector.
when I went to ask about duals, either the way it was, cross over like yours, or take the aux tank out. I opted for the third. dual exhaust, straight back, over the axle, exit behind the rear wheels.
I don't use it on long hauls anymore, so I could live without the second tank.
