Too much oil pressure HELP!!!!

Just rebuilt my 4.2 everything is new. when starting it, it blows the oil filter gasket out and sparys oil all over the place.

Was it a FRAM oil filter?

I've tried two different kinds of filters. but yes one was a fram

Try a Motorcraft 400S oil filter.Wal-Mart sells them for $3.28 each.

Tried That filter and had the same problem as soon as I started the van it blew the gasket out and sprayed oil all over.

I'd guess you have something blocking the oil. I'm not familiar with the internals well enough to hazard a guess. Since you just completed a rebuild, I'd suspect something wrong there. Maybe a gasket blocking an oil passage?

I wonder if you can find the problem without opening the motor up.

Did you reuse the timing cover? If so did you clean the oil pressure relieve valve well after scraping the gasket? The relief valve is built into the timing cover and can be contaminated easily if you use something like a Roloc disc to clean the cover.
