Drive shaft carrier bearing

I am trying to remove the carrier bearing on the front drive shaft of my 1954 F-250. I tried using a 3-jaw puller without any luck. There appears to be a collar on the shaft after the bearing. As far as I can see, the collar should slip off of the shaft splines.

Does anyone have any tips for how to go about removing the carrier bearing? I am thinking of applying heat next, but would appreciate any other advice.

Thanks,

Kevin

It needs to be pressed off with a hydrl. press. A machine shop can do this reasonably. It is a tight fit and a puller won't remove it, plus you can do damage that way. Spend a few dollars and you won't regret it.
