just a little story for all of you. it almost made me sick.. i called my ford dealer (oshawa area)and asked about the fuel filter replacement on my 6.0 diesel. they told me it takes 3 hours (well thats what the flat rate book pays anyway) at $85.00 an hour plus $108 for the filters. so in total $417.45. this past weekend i was back home visiting my family north west of sudbury. so i called my buddy at the ford dealer in town and asked the same question. dealers up there dont do flat rate. 1 hour work is 1 hour paid. it took them 30 minutes to change the filters. labour there is $66.00 an hour. $108 for the filter and $33.00 in labour. it cost me 156.00 with tax. i think the dealers in southern ontario are criminals. i think from here on in ill drive the 5 hours back up there and not get ripped off.
